About the Houston Women’s Soccer Association (HWSA)
The Houston Women’s Soccer Association (HWSA) is a local nonprofit organization committed to fostering a vibrant soccer community in the Houston area. Established in 1976, HWSA has grown into one of the largest adult soccer associations in the region, with approximately 2,000 members and 90 teams.
Our mission is to promote and develop the sport of soccer while emphasizing the values of sportsmanship, fellowship, and inclusivity. HWSA provides opportunities for players of all skill levels through competitive and recreational leagues for women and coed teams.
We are dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive environment that allows adults aged 18 and older to participate in the sport they love, whether they are seasoned players or newcomers. Through soccer, we aim to promote physical health, teamwork, personal growth, and the development of lifelong skills and friendships.
In addition to league play, HWSA engages with the broader community through events, tournaments, and partnerships, encouraging a love for the game and giving back to the sport that brings us together. We are proud to be a cornerstone of Houston’s soccer community, bringing people together on and off the field.
